Texas Driver Record Search

Texas driver records are maintained by the Driver License Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety. The department is currently reviewing vendors who may be able to provide Texas driver record monitoring in the future. Records are not available for request in person in the state of Texas, but can be requested online and by mail in a few easy steps. To begin your Texas driver record search use the above form

The agency’s website provides an online request system for your Texas driver record, which is then available for print. There are six types of records available:

  • Status record (Type 1), which provides a licensee’s name, date of birth, license status, and latest address;
  • the three-year history record (Type 2), which offers name, date of birth, license status, a full list of accidents and any violations committed within the past three years;
  • a list of all accidents and violations on record (Type 3);
  • certified three-year history record (Type 2A), which is a certified version of Type 2, but not acceptable for a defensive driving course;
  • a certified list of all accidents and violations on record (Type 3A), which is the only type of record acceptable for a defensive driving course;
  • and the certified abstracts of driving record (Type AR), which provides the certified, complete record of a license holder. All Texas driver records provided by the agency are printable.

Prices range from $4.50 for a Type 1 record up to $22.00 for the certified driving record abstract. In order to request your Texas driver record online, you will need:
