Kentucky Driving Records Search

Every resident of Kentucky that has a driver’s license, has a driving history. This history is made readily available in what is called a Kentucky driving record. Kentucky Driving Records Classes

The Kentucky Division of Driver Licensing maintains a driving history for up to five years for non-CDL drivers and a full Kentucky driving history for CDL holders. They currently offer three classes of driving records.

Kentucky Driving History Record

This record dates back three years to show a driver’s status, license expiration, traffic violations, and driving restrictions. This class doesn’t include any identifying information about the driver, including address, sex, or social security number.Five-Year Full Driving History Record

This is a record that contains at least five full years of driving history. This document includes identifying information for the driver, traffic convictions, driving privileges, and any CDL requirements. This class is not available to the general public. Only the driver, exempt agencies according to the Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, and those with written consent can obtain this copy.

Clearance Letter For Five-Year Full Driving History Record

For official and court purposes, you will need to obtain a clearance letter along with your five-year full driving history record. This clearance letter acts as a certification of authenticity from the Kentucky Division of Driver Licensing.

How To Obtain Your Kentucky Driving Records

There are four different ways you can obtain Kentucky driver record. These options vary depending on the specific class of record you desire.

Kentucky Driving Records In Person

You can obtain any record class in person at the Kentucky Division of Driver Licensing Regional Field Office for $3.

Kentucky Driving Records By Mail

Any record can be obtained by mail from the Kentucky Division of Driver Licensing in Frankfort for a fee of $3.

Kentucky Driving Records By Phone

You may obtain any class of record by contacting the Division of Driver Licensing and paying with a credit card over the phone. The cost is $3.

Kentucky Driving Records Online

You can obtain a three-year driving history record through the Driver History Records section on the official Kentucky Government website. Credit card payment is accepted online for the $5.50 procurement fee and an immediate document will be available for download.

Currently, the clearance letter and five-year full driving history records are unavailable for purchase online.
