Utah Inmate Finder Information
An inmate may end up in a state prison, correctional or penitentiary facility, depending upon the nature of the crime and the court’s verdict and with the presence of about 102 federal and 1700 state prisons and 32,000 local jails in the U.S., locating an inmate would be an impossible task if the states’ Department of Corrections had not developed websites/ online portals to search and locate an inmate. In order to use the Utah Inmate Finder click here, enter a name and an inmate identification number if available.
The Utah Department of Corrections has also developed an online offender search tool which allows you to search and locate offenders in the state of Utah. The Utah Inmate Finder needs any of the following details to locate an offender in Utah:
* First, Middle and the Last Name of an offender (you can skip the middle name but, it is mandatory to provide the first and last names)
* Offender Number
The Utah Inmate Finder provides details about offenders, who are under the jurisdiction of the Utah Department of Corrections, only for public information and tries its best to keep it true, accurate and updated. However, it is not liable for any discrepancies or mistakes. Also, it only provides basic information, like the offender’s Date of Birth, sex height, weight, current location, housing facility and parole date, about offenders who are currently serving their sentences in the Utah Department of Corrections and does not provide any historical information about them.
If you think that the information provided by the Utah Inmate Finder is not enough and you need more details, contact the Utah Department of Corrections by sending an email to corrections@utah.gov and if you want to get a copy of an offender’s records, you need to send a formal request to the following address:
